Search intensifies for Fil-Am mom missing in Washington, DC - INQUIRER.net USA

WASHINGTON – Police and family members are appealing for help finding Antoinette Forbes, a 53-year-old Filipino American mother who disappeared in Washington, D.C., a week ago.

Forbes was last seen on Sept. 4 in the 3200 block of Nebraska Avenue NW, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. She remains listed in the department’s missing-person database.

Police described Forbes as an Asian woman, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 115 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

A public appeal from her family and friends identifies Forbes as being of Filipino descent.

Forbes, a single mother of a 10-year-old son, has lived in the Washington area for more than 30 years, according to family and friends. She works in public affairs for pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly.

Although police say she was last seen Friday afternoon, Forbes was still communicating with family the following morning. Her sister, Aileen Forbes, said they had been discussing plans for a Christmas vacation before communication abruptly stopped.

When a friend later went to Forbes’ home, several of her personal belongings were still there, including her phones, keys, purse and wallet. Her dog was also inside the home and her car was parked outside.

Her family said the circumstances were deeply out of character.

“We all love her. We want her to come home,” her sister told NBC Washington, urging anyone who might know something to come forward.

Investigators have spent hours at Forbes’ home and have spoken with neighbors as part of the search. Police have not publicly disclosed what they were looking for at the residence or whether the investigation has generated new leads.
