Seminary teacher arrested for minor boy’s rape in madressah in Jhang
TOBA TEK SINGH: Kot Shakir police in Athara Hazari tehsil of Jhang arrested on Saturday a seminary teacher for raping a minor Quran student.
The complainant, a resident of Kot Langar, said in his first information report (FIR) that his 12-year-old son was a resident student in Madressah Hameedul Islam at village Chanda. On Friday night, his teacher overpowered him on the upper storey room of the seminary and raped him. Medical examination report from doctors of Athara Hazari Tehsil Headquarters Hospital confirmed rape. Police arrested the suspect.
ARRESTED: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), Jhang, arrested a patwari for taking a bribe.
Patwari Malik Mujahid Iqbal had allegedly demanded Rs4.2m from Dr Sajjad Ali Akbar for transfer of his nine kanal urban land. When the complainant paid Rs3m to the patwari, an ACE team, led by Deputy Director Muhammad Sarfraz Warraich, conducted a raid along with a judicial magistrate and caught him red-handed. All marked currency notes were recovered from the suspect who was sent behind the bars.
Meanwhile, a Wasa inspector in Faisalabad had also been arrested for taking a bribe. According to ACE officials, one Asad Ali had complained that to decrease his Wasa sewerage bill, Inspector Zahid Iqbal was demanding Rs20,000 bribe from him. When the complainant handed money over to the suspect, the ACE team, led by circle officer Rana Rashid Mahmood, caught him red-handed.
Magistrate Yasir Arafat recovered marked currency notes from the pocket of the suspect.
ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist died and two others were injured critically after two bikes collided near Chak 275-JB in the Thikriwala police area of Faisalabad.
Reports said Ashir Munir (20) started running his bike on the road after getting petrol from a filling station when another speeding bike with two boys riding it hit his bike. As a result, all three of them were critically wounded. Ashir died instantly while both other boys, Huzaifa (17) and Muawia (16), were injured. Both of them, real brothers, were shifted to the Allied Hospital for treatment.
DROWNING: A young man drowned in River Ravi near Kot Islam Headworks in Kabirwala tehsil of Khanewal on Saturday.
According to Rescue 1122, Muhammad Imran (26) was catching fish when he slipped into the water and drowned. Rescuers recovered his body.
