Shehnaaz Gill's flight scare caught on camera, actor says 'narrowly escaped'
Punjabi actor and former Bigg Boss contestant Shehnaaz Gill had a flight scare that left her remembering both Waheguru and Ganpati Bappa. Gill, who was travelling with her brother Shehbaz Badesha, shared a video of the turbulent journey on Instagram on Tuesday.
The now-viral clip showed the brother-sister duo praying and trying to stay calm as the flight encountered severe turbulence. At one point, Shehnaaz was heard chanting, "Waheguru, Waheguru," while Shehbaz appeared to struggle to contain his nervous laughter. As the aircraft began its descent, Shehnaaz appeared to be willing it to land safely, and she and the other passengers finally breathed a sigh of relief after touchdown.
Sharing the video, Shehnaaz captioned it, "Bahut mushkil se bache aaj (We narrowly escaped today)... So grateful we landed safely,". The plane landed at Mumbai airport, although it could not be immediately ascertained where the actor boarded the flight from or where she landed.Earlier incident on set
The flight scare came after another alarming moment involving the actor during the shoot of Ishqnama. Shehnaaz had shared a behind-the-scenes video from the set showing her running during a scene when her nose ring came loose and fell into her mouth. She was then seen coughing, while her co-star Saurabh Sachdeva patted her back and helped her recover.
Ishqnama is a Punjabi romantic period drama directed by Arvindr Khaira, which was released on July 24. The film follows Nimma, a young Sikh student and poet from India, who falls in love with Nasima, a Muslim girl from Pakistan. Shehnaaz stars in the film alongside Jayy Randhawa, Saurabh Sachdeva, Anjum Batra and Mahanbir Bhullar.
Shehnaaz's Punjabi film projects also include Singh vs Kaur 2, which co-stars Gippy Grewal. The Punjabi romantic comedy is directed by Navaniat Singh and released worldwide on September 11, 2026.
