SIBOL Pokemon UNITE team cops bronze in Asian Games esports - GMA Network

The SIBOL team bagged bronze in the Pokemon UNITE event after falling to Indonesia, 0-2, in the semifinals.

Being in the semifinals already assured the team of at least a bronze medal.

Prior to the semfiinals, the Philippines defeated Hong Kong in the quarterfinals.

In the group phase, the Philippines had a DNS (Did Not Start) in its first game, along with its opponent Kazakhstan, due to a uniform issue. However, the team bounced back with wins against Chinese Taipei and Malaysia.

The Philippines already has 11 medals in the Asian Games, with two golds from Carlos Yulo, silvers from MMA’s Jean Claude Saclag and Gilas Women 3x3, and seven bronzes overall.
