CM Vijay's son Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut Sigma has struggled to gain momentum at the box office despite the initial hype surrounding the film. The action-crime thriller failed to record any growth on its first Sunday, earning Rs 1.50 crore in India nett (gross minus taxes) on October 4, the same as its Saturday collection. With three days of its theatrical run complete, Sigma has earned Rs 5.35 crore in India nett, remaining well below the Rs 10-crore mark.

According to trade website Sacnilk, Sigma recorded 23.6 per cent overall occupancy across 1,753 shows on Sunday. The film had 149,651 footfalls on Day 3, taking its cumulative footfall count to 515,512. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 6.10 crore nett.Sigma box office collection Day 3

Sigma opened in theatres on Friday, October 2, with an India nett collection of Rs 2.35 crore. The film was screened across 1,813 shows and recorded 31.1 per cent occupancy on its opening day.

However, the film witnessed a drop on Saturday. Sigma collected Rs 1.50 crore in India nett on October 3 from 1,802 shows, with overall occupancy falling to 22.6 per cent.

The film was unable to recover on Sunday. Despite the weekend, its daily collection remained flat at Rs 1.50 crore. The Tamil version continued to account for the larger share of Sigma’s domestic earnings on Day 3. It collected Rs 95 lakh from 893 shows, recording 27 per cent overall occupancy. The Telugu version contributed Rs 55 lakh from 860 shows, with overall occupancy standing at 20 per cent.

The Tamil 2D version recorded 37.95 per cent overall occupancy on Sunday. Afternoon shows performed the strongest at 47.25 per cent, followed by morning shows at 31.75 per cent. Evening and night screenings recorded 31 per cent and 26.17 per cent occupancy, respectively.

The Telugu 2D version recorded 17.80 per cent overall occupancy. Morning shows registered 15.70 per cent, while afternoon, evening and night screenings recorded 17.10 per cent, 18.70 per cent and 11.20 per cent, respectively.

Tamil Nadu remained the biggest contributor to Sigma’s Sunday earnings, generating Rs 95 lakh. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed Rs 60 lakh, while Karnataka added Rs 9 lakh. Kerala contributed Rs 5 lakh, with the remaining Indian markets accounting for Rs 1 lakh. The combined state-wise gross collection for Sunday stood at Rs 1.70 crore.About Sigma

Sigma, released on October 2, marks Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut. The film stars Sundeep Kishan as Guru and Faria Abdullah as Sam, with Sampath Raj playing Kotlapatti Veerayya Reddy. Raju Sundaram, Shiv Panditt and Anbu Thasan are also part of the cast.

The film arrived amid considerable curiosity around Jason Sanjay, who is Tamil actor-turned-politician Vijay’s son.
