Siya searched ChatGPT for grief tips, how to behave if caught: Cops in chargesheet

Siya Goyal, the Pune woman accused of murdering her realtor fiance Ketan Agarwal by pushing him off a cliff at Lohagad Fort, searched ChatGPT and other online sources after his death to understand how to express grief before his family and appear more distressed, according to the police chargesheet.

The investigation also found that while planning the murder, Siya studied previous murder cases and incidents involving people falling into gorges in and around the Lonavala region, including the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case and an earlier death at Lohagad.

According to the investigation, Ketan was taken to Lohagad Fort on June 18, 2026, where he was pushed to death. When his family later reached the foothills of Lohagad, they became suspicious after noticing that Siya did not appear to be grieving as expected.

Realising this, after returning home, Siya searched online for information on how to express grief and how to appear more emotionally distressed, the chargesheet says. Police confirmed that these searches were identified during the examination of digital evidence.

Police have further claimed that while planning Ketan's murder, Siya studied the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, who was killed by his newlywed wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya in May 2025.

According to the chargesheet, searches were made for details about the case, including how the crime unfolded, the investigation and the clues that led investigators to the accused.

The accused also searched for earlier incidents involving deaths after falls from cliffs or gorges in and around Lonavala. Police said searches were made regarding incidents at Tiger Point and the death of a young woman, Mansi Govindpurkar, in the Lohagad area.

Police also found that Siya had searched online about a similar incident that took place at Lohagad in 2025, in which another woman had died.

According to the police, information related to these cases was shared between Siya, her co-accused Chetan Chaudhary and his friend and another co-accused, Ritesh Hange, through social media and messaging platforms.

Chats from Instagram, WhatsApp and Snapchat, along with other digital evidence recovered from electronic devices, have been seized and submitted to the court along with the chargesheet.‘WHAT TO DO IF POLICE CATCH US’

The investigation also found that the accused initially believed they would not be caught after executing the plan. However, police said Chetan later became apprehensive that the crime would be detected and that he would be arrested.

According to the chargesheet, Siya initially reassured Chetan, while later Chetan encouraged Siya when she too became anxious.

Following Ritesh's advice, online searches were made about how to behave if arrested, what to say during questioning and how to handle the situation without panicking.

The investigating agency has claimed that this preparation may explain why the accused appeared relatively calm and confident after their arrests.SEARCHES FOR POISONING THROUGH FOOD, MUSHROOMS

The chargesheet has also claimed that Siya explored multiple ways to kill Ketan, including the possibility of poisoning him through food.

The investigation reportedly found searches related to mushrooms and poisoning through food items. Police are examining whether these searches were connected to any separate attempt or plan to kill Ketan.

However, the precise connection between these online searches and the murder conspiracy will ultimately have to be established through evidence and determined by the court during the trial.

Pune Rural Police have filed a 5,053-page chargesheet in the Ketan Agarwal murder case before the Vadgaon Maval court in Pune.

Police have recorded statements from around 80 to 85 witnesses. Among them, three witnessed Siya and Chetan while the crime was being committed.
