Son of former Dallas Cowboys star scores first TDs, steals his dad’s celebration - USA Today

Fans of the Dallas Cowboys vividly remember watching Dez Bryant throwing up the "X" every time he found the end zone.

Bryant's playing days are now over but on Thursday night, Sept. 17, his signature celebration was displayed twice by someone who shares his name.

Southlake Carroll (TX) junior running back Dez Bryant Jr. scored two first-quarter touchdowns as the Dragons jumped out on top of Keller Central (TX) en route to a 35-17 win over the Chargers.

For Bryant Jr., the touchdowns will be ones he will likely always remember as they were the first of his high school career. He finished the night with 14 carries for 77 yards and the two touchdowns.

Bryant Jr.'s first touchdown came with 8:48 remaining in the first quarter as he played through a Keller Central defensive lineman ripping at his face mask and scored from 14 yards out, capping an 11-play drive.

After Keller Central missed a field goal on its next drive, Bryant Jr. and the Dragons offense quickly got going. He capped off a nine-play drive with a 15-yard touchdown run and quickly flashed his dad's signature celebration for the second time.

With the win, the Dragons ended a two-game skid that saw them lose by 30 to North Crowley (TX) and by 21 last week to Allen (TX), two teams ranked in the USA TODAY Sports Southwest Super 15 rankings. Southlake Carroll opened its season with an improbable 34-33 come-from-behind win over Jenks (OK) in the Cotton Bowl.

Next week the Dragons return home for a showdown with V.R. Eaton (TX).
