South Central Railway wins five awards for energy efficiency

South Central Railway (SCR) won five awards at the 27th CII National Excellence in Energy Management 2026 held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), underscoring its efforts towards energy conservation and sustainable operations. Among the award winners, Kacheguda Railway Station received the prestigious ‘Excellent Energy Efficient Unit’ award for its outstanding performance in energy management.
Four other establishments were recognised under the ‘Energy Efficient Unit’ category - Lekha Bhavan, Central Hospital, Lallaguda, and the Zonal Railway Training Institute (ZRTI), Moula Ali. In addition, Rail Bogie Karkhana, Yadgir, and the Signal & Telecom Workshop, Mettuguda, were also honoured for implementing energy-efficiency measures effectively. Hyderabad Division Additional Railway Manager (ADRM) Rama Rao and other senior officials received the awards on Saturday, according to a press release.
