‘Sparks Camp 4’ returns with new thrills for queer campers
MANILA, Philippines — “Sparks Camp” is introducing a new feature in its fourth season where its queer campers can freely express themselves away from the other participants.
The country’s first queer dating reality show premiered its fourth season on iWant on Wednesday, September 16.
According to director Ted Boborol, Momolan is the private space that gives the campers a place to be themselves amid the tension and drama of the dating show.
“For the first time this season, they can go inside Momolan and do whatever they want. If they want to express themselves, breathe, and shout, they can freely go inside even when solo,” Boborol said.
Aside from Momolan, the new season will also feature excursions outside the island, where the campers will take part in activities designed to help them get to know one another and explore their connections.
Host and “Mother Sparker” Mela Habijan, meanwhile, expressed her excitement over the show's return and the opportunity to feature more queer love stories.
“Imagine, four seasons of ‘Sparks Camp,’ and now I am a mother of 40 campers! Isang malaking pasasalamat sa universe that we still get to share queer stories and show what queer love is all about,” Habijan said.
Season 4 features a diverse group of campers, including Tommy, Ian, Taku, Jury and Michael.
Also looking for a connection are Joaquin, Gio, EJ, Beej and Howie.
“Sparks Camp” Season 4 is co-produced by iWant and PlayTime Entertainment, following the success of the vertical drama series “Will You Fake Marry Me?” starring JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith.
The new season began streaming on iWant on September 16, with early access episodes available to subscribers. Episodes will be released for free starting September 23.
