SPPG Salatiga Security Guard Found Dead During Shift Change

SALATIGA, KOMPAS.com - A security guard working at SPPG Yayasan Cipta Pangan Sejahtera Sawahan, Kelurahan Kecandran, Sidomukti District, Salatiga City, identified only as S, was found dead on duty Saturday morning (19/9/2026).

The incident was discovered when the victim's colleague arrived at the site to take over the guard shift.

Upon entering the guard post, the witness saw the victim sitting in a chair and initially thought he was sleeping.

Around 6:15 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, the witness tried to wake the victim. However, when he touched the victim's hand, he found it limp.

The witness then checked for a pulse and found that the victim no longer had a heartbeat.

Realizing the situation, the witness contacted the local neighborhood chief (Ketua RT).

"The neighborhood chief, accompanied by several residents, then came to the location and helped verify the victim’s condition," said Salatiga Police Chief AKBP Jonathan David Harianthono in a written statement.

After confirming that the victim was deceased, the neighborhood chief contacted the police to report the incident.

"In addition to Salatiga Police officers, a medical examination was conducted by a doctor to confirm the victim’s condition," he explained.

Based on initial examination results, the victim is suspected to have died of natural causes.

There was no information indicating violence in the initial crime scene report.

After completing the examinations, the body was handed over to the family.

Subsequently, the family took the body to the funeral home for burial. The family also declined an autopsy on the deceased.
