Springbok Women target strong against Wales in WXV opener - EWN

The Springbok Women are ready to launch their WXV Global Series campaign this Friday against Wales at Cardiff Arms Park.

Head coach Franzel September has named a squad featuring a reshuffled backline and one key change in the forward pack, after the team scored four tries against the Black Ferns in Johannesburg.

Up front, Logan Welman steps into the starting lineup at No. 8, swapping places with Aseza Hele, who will impact the game from the bench.

The backline sees the return of Felicia Jacobs and wing Maria Tshiremba, who made a massive statement by scoring a hat-trick on her debut against Fiji last month.

Maceala Samboya retains the outside centre spot after replacing the injured Zinthle Mpupha in Soweto, pairing with the experienced Aphiwe Ngwevu in midfield.
