SSC to conduct CGL Tier 1 2026 examination from September 30 to October 30
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the exam schedule for the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) 2026. General Intelligence and Reasoning: The General Intelligence and Reasoning section will include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type.
General Awareness: The General Awareness section will test candidates' general awareness of the environment around them and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect, as may be expected of an educated person. The section will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries, especially about History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy and Scientific Research.
Quantitative Aptitude: The Quantitative Aptitude section will include questions designed to test the ability of candidates to make appropriate use of numbers and number sense.
English Comprehension: The English Comprehension section will test candidates' ability to understand correct English, along with their basic comprehension and writing ability.MARKING SCHEME AND DURATION
Applicants will be given one hour to complete the Tier 1 paper. There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer.
Tier 1 will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions. The questions will be set in both English and Hindi, except for the English Comprehension section.
