Steelers coach vows major change after surprising Week 1 decision - Steelers Wire

Defense was the recipe for success in the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 1 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, but there was something missing from the play calls: blitzes. And that wasn't lost on one Steelers coach.

Speaking with reporters on Monday, Steelers defensive coordinator Patrick Graham laughed off the no-blitz game plan from Week 1 before promising that the defense will blitz in the future.

"We'll blitz, I promise," Graham said via ESPN's Brooke Pryor.

This should be music to Jalen Ramsey's ears, as on just 20 blitzes in 2025, he recorded three sacks, five pressures, and one quarterback knockdown. Safety Jaquan Brisker and linebacker Patrick Queen are also adept when it comes to getting after the quarterback whenever they're asked to blitz, which unfortunately wasn't in the cards for Week 1's game plan.

It should be no time at all until Steelers fans see the return of the Blitzburgh approach, with plenty of the team's defenders chomping at the bit for their number to get called, potentially as soon as Week 2's game against the New England Patriots.
