Swimmer killed in shark attack at Perth's Sorrento beach - ABC listen - ABC News & Headlines – Australian Broadcasting Corporation

WA Police has confirmed a male swimmer was killed by a shark at Sorrento beach in Perth this morning. Witnesses have told the ABC the man was swimming with a friend when he was attacked. Officers say the swimmer died because of the attack.

The Australian man accused of murdering a Thai teenager in June, has pleaded not guilty to all charges in his first court appearance since the girl's death. Simon Carman is facing four charges including murder, concealing a corpse, and abducting a minor for indecent purposes.

And Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is travelling to the US for high-level talks with tech executives and world leaders. Mr Albanese says AI and online safety will be a major theme of his visit to Apple's headquarters in California and attendance at the UN General Assembly in New York next week.
