T.N. govt keen on women’s health and well being, says Minister

Highlighting the significance of prioritising women’s health and well-being as an integral part of healthy and progressive society, Minister R. Nirmalkumar said that awareness among the womenfolk in all segments would facilitate in achieving the goal.

He was speaking at the Confederation of Indian Industry-Indian Women Network (CII-IWN) Tamil Nadu here on Saturday, which organised VIVIDHA 2026: Health 360°, spotlighting women’s health, well-being and healthy workplaces.

Held under the theme “Building Healthy Women, Healthy Workplaces & Healthy Communities,” the conference highlighted the interconnected dimensions of physical health, mental well-being, women’s health, workplace well-being and the role of technology and innovation in shaping the future of healthcare.

Speaking at the conference, CII IWN Tamil Nadu Chairperson Amudhavalli Ranganathan emphasised the need to place women’s health at the centre of conversations around workforce participation, productivity and inclusive growth. She noted that as more women enter and contribute to the workforce, there is an equal need to build workplaces that understand and respond to women’s health needs across different life stages.

The CII IWN Madurai zone convenor Hema Satish, CII Madurai Zone Vice-Chairman Balaji Venkatraman, Young Indians Madurai Chapter Chair Vikranth Karmegam, CII-IWN Vice-Chairperson Avanti Natarajan, CII-IWN co-convenor Visalakshi Kannan and others participated.
