Takeaways from Wisconsin football's improbable comeback vs. Penn State - Badgers Wire
The Wisconsin Badgers shocked the world as they went to Happy Valley and took down Penn State, 24-20.
Things weren't looking too good in the first half as they trailed 17-0, but somehow, someway, this Badgers team found a way to win.
Jacob Harris may be out of breath until next week, but it was sure worth it as the 265-pound tight end ran in the game-winning 72-yard touchdown reception.
Penn State fans were left stunned, and rightfully so, knowing Luke Fickell's track record in these games while coaching the Badgers.
It's been two years since the Badgers won a road game, five years since they've beaten a ranked team on the road, 15 years since they've beaten Penn State in general, and 23 years since the Nittany Lions lost to Wisconsin at home.
Officially, this was Wisconsin's largest comeback win since 2006. Despite being down 17-0, they found a way to go on a 24-3 run to win this game.
For Joseph to throw three interceptions in this game and still be able to pull out the win is nothing short of incredible.
Two of his interceptions came on back-to-back drives, but the Badgers defense was able to keep them in this game.
Joseph was 10/22 in the first three quarters with 93 yards and two interceptions. In the fourth quarter he was 8/16 for 144 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
UW held Rocco Becht to just 114 passing yards in this one. The longest tenured quarterback in college football completed just 41% of his passes and also threw an interception on the night.
Mason Posa led the way with 12 total tackles, eight of which were solo. To put things into perspective, the next closest player on the team was cooper Catalano who had nine total tackles.
Hammond Russell IV had one and a half sacks in the biggest win of his life, and it was the 333-pound Charles Perkins who hauled in the interception.
