Burglars decamped with liquor bottles that were worth around ₹2 lakh rupees at a Tasmac outlet in Irumbedu on Saturday.
The police said that outlet supervisor K. Purushothaman, 45, and salesman S. Palani, 38, saw the lock at the entrance of the outlet damaged, when they were about to open the shop around noon.
Several racks of liquor bottles were also stolen. Hard disks of CCTV cameras fixed inside the outlets were missing and the cameras were damaged.
They alerted Arani Taluk police who took CCTV camera footage along the route where the shop was located. A case was registered and a probe is under way.
