Taylor Swift announces deluxe version of The Life of a Showgirl with 4 new songs

On Wednesday, the pop megastar announced The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, an extended version of her 2025 album that includes four new tracks: Patient Zero, Cleveland!, Pink Clouding and Babylon.
"About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mindโฆ You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history," she wrote on Instagram, alongside brand new cover art featuring the star in a gold fringe minidress on a maroon curtained stage surrounded by glittery showgirl-esque fonts.
The announcement comes shortly after Swift spent the past few days dropping cryptic clues to send her fans into full sleuth mode.
The clues included a countdown on her site and an updated social media bio that read, "And, baby, that's sh0w business f0r y0u. โค๏ธโ๐ฅ" โ the zeros hinting at the title of her next single, Patient Zero.
She also made a cameo in a Law & Order: Special Victims sketch at the 2026 Emmy Awards earlier this month where she offered up a string of words straight to camera for fans to decode and unscramble.ย
All of it had Swifties spinning over whether she was teasing a deluxe edition, a new projectย or even the long-awaited Taylor Swift (Taylorโs Version) re-record, as her self-titled debut nears its 20th anniversary.
Swift announced the single Patient Zero on Tuesday with yet another Instagram post. Naturally, this prompted another round of fan sleuthing about the scope of the project. Less than a day later, they got their answer.
Swift says the new tracks came together after she went to Sweden to celebrate the success of The Life of a Showgirl with collaborators Max Martin and Shellback.ย
The duo has worked on some of her biggest hits, including Blank Space, We Are Never Getting Back Together and Wildest Dreams.

The celebration apparently turned into another studio session. Because when you're a world-renowned pop star โ why stop at 12 songs when you can make 16?
"I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made." Swift wrote on Instagram.
She married Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce at New York City's Madison Square Garden in July and she's set to take home the first-ever Artist Director award at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.ย
A CBS press release says the accolade is "a new award recognizing groundbreaking music artists whose work behind the camera has expanded the possibilities of music video and advanced the art of visual storytelling."
The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore is out Friday.
