On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi on Friday (October 2, 2026), The Hindu is releasing a documentary Gandhi for GenZ: The Mahatma is suddenly cool again that highlights the relevance of the Father of the Nation to the struggles of the youth of India today.
With interviews of Gandhi historians and GenZ activists and archival footage, the 30-minute documentary is both a tribute to and an assessment of the Mahatma.
It will be published on The Hindu’s website and on YouTube.
