The Paradise box office Day 3: Nani's film tops Rs 100 crore worldwide
Nani’s The Paradise crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide by Day 3, with its theatrical run continuing to be powered largely by the Telugu market. The film also held steady on Saturday after a sharp fall on Friday, keeping its early momentum intact at the box office.
The film began with strong Wednesday previews and posted its biggest single-day total on Thursday before seeing a steep drop on Friday. By Saturday, collections were largely flat with a small rise.
The film has delivered the biggest theatrical opening of Nani’s career, moving ahead of the opening-day numbers of Dasara and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. Over its first four days, it has already crossed the entire domestic run of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram and is nearing Dasara’s lifetime domestic total.
On Day 3, The Paradise collected a nett of Rs 15.25 crore across 6,889 shows. This took its total India gross to Rs 90.50 crore and its total India nett to Rs 76.40 crore. Overseas, the film earned Rs 4.00 crore on Day 3, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 29.00 crore. Its worldwide gross now stands at Rs 119.50 crore.
As reported by trade website Sacnilk, the film opened with limited Wednesday previews, earning Rs 11.60 crore from 900 shows with 79 per cent occupancy. It then recorded its biggest single day on Thursday, collecting Rs 34.65 crore as screenings expanded to more than 9,700 shows.
On Friday, collections fell by more than 50 per cent to Rs 14.90 crore, with show counts dropping and occupancy at 32.8 per cent. On Saturday, the decline stopped, with the film earning Rs 15.25 crore at 33.4 per cent occupancy. The Telugu version brought in the bulk of Saturday’s earnings, collecting Rs 13.35 crore across 3,617 shows with 46.1 per cent occupancy. The Hindi version earned Rs 1.65 crore from 2,809 shows at 19.0 per cent occupancy. The Tamil version added Rs 0.25 crore across 463 shows with 21.0 per cent occupancy. The film continues to draw most of its business from the Telugu market, while the other versions have seen limited traction.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana led Saturday’s business, contributing Rs 13.50 crore to the film’s Day 3 gross of Rs 18.00 crore. Outside its home market, the film collected Rs 2.15 crore from the Rest of India, Rs 1.70 crore from Karnataka, Rs 0.55 crore from Tamil Nadu and Rs 0.10 crore from Kerala.Career benchmark for Nani
The Paradise has registered the biggest theatrical opening of Nani’s career, with its Day 1 nett of Rs 34.65 crore going past the opening-day totals of Dasara, which earned Rs 23.20 crore, and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, which opened at Rs 9.00 crore. Across its first four days, the action film has collected Rs 76.40 crore nett, already going past Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’s full domestic run of Rs 63.21 crore and moving towards Dasara’s lifetime domestic total of Rs 81.93 crore.
Its post-opening trend has also resembled Dasara’s front-loaded run, with a drop of more than 55 per cent on the second day before collections flattened over the weekend.
The Paradise marks Nani’s second collaboration with Srikanth Odela after Dasara.
