A woman who lost her home in a bushfire in the Top End on Wednesday, September 16 says she and her family were lucky to get out alive.
Fire authorities say the blaze in Blackmore, west of Berry Springs, was sparked by someone welding during a total fire ban.
Donna Gardener says she was warned by a firefighter moments before the fire hit their home.
She and her daughter Holly spoke to 105.7 ABC Darwin's Liz Trevaskis on the breakfast program about losing the home where she lived with nine family members.
