Thinking Pinoy RJ Nieto named as Office of the Cabinet Secretary Asec - GMA Network

RJ Nieto, the man behind the social media page Thinking Pinoy, has been appointed as Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Cabinet Secretary.

"Pursuant to the provisions of existing laws, you are hereby appointed ASSISTANT SECRETARY, OFFICE OF THE CABINET SECRETARY, OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT," read the memo signed by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos jr.

"By virtue hereof, you may qualify and perform the duties of the office. furnishing the Office of the President and the Civil Service Commission with copies of your Oath of Office," it added.

Nieto also posted the memo on his Facebook page, saying he was "grateful and a little scared" of the appointment.

"I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the Filipino people, but I am also aware that this is a difficult time for the country," said Nieto.

He also said that he has yet to take his oath of office and that "there are still a few formalities to complete" before he can start his duty. But he added that he will start "very soon."

"The CabSec Office’s work includes monitoring whether government programmes are being implemented properly and whether services are actually reaching people... I spent the past years studying mathematics in the University of Bristol. That training taught me to look carefully at evidence, systems and complex problems. Sana magamit ko iyon sa trabaho," he added.
