Trey'Dez Green injury updates: LSU TE hurt vs Ole Miss, on crutches - USA Today

LSU has flipped the switch on offense in the second half against Mississippi, and for that, the Tigers have positioned themselves with the opportunity to hand Lane Kiffin a win in his return to Oxford.

The Tigers appear to have lost a key weapon for Sam Leavitt in the comeback attempt, though.

Tigers' starting tight end Trey'Dez Green went down with a lower-body injury in the fourth quarter after taking a pair of low hits from Ole Miss defenders.

Green exited the game as LSU's leading receiver with four receptions for 60 yards. His longest reception of the night was a 23-yard catch up the left sideline on third-and-11 from Leavitt.

LSU is currently tied with Ole Miss at 24-24 in the fourth quarter after a 23-yard field goal from Scott Starzyk. A win for the Tigers would hand Ole Miss just its second loss at home since 2023 and Kiffin's second win against a top-10-ranked opponent on the road in his coaching career.

Green appeared to have sustained a leg injury in the second half of Saturday's game against Ole Miss. He took several hits at the end of a catch and was down on the field for several moments getting tended to by officials.

He walked off toward LSU's sidelines with the help of two members of the Tigers' medical staff and was seen on ABC's cameras in serious pain. He had a limp in his walk as well.

Cory Diaz of The Daily Advertiser, part of the USA TODAY Network, noted that LSU's radio broadcast reports that Green is doubtful to return to the game against the Rebels: a brutal blow and loss for the Tigers' offense.

Green ultimately did not return. What's more, he was later seen using crutches while in street clothes.
