Trying to dodge pothole, man crushed by truck after losing balance on scooter

A 75-year-old man died after his scooter skidded while he was trying to avoid a pothole near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Maharashtra's Palghar. He fell onto the road and came under the rear wheel of a passing container truck.

The deceased was identified as Brijmohan Nirmal, a resident of a nearby village. According to the available information, Nirmal was riding his scooter through the area when he tried to manoeuvre around a pothole. The scooter suddenly lost balance, throwing him onto the road.

Following the accident, a large number of people gathered at the spot. Police reached the area and began investigating the incident.

The accident has also sparked anger among local residents over the condition of the road. Residents said potholes have become a persistent danger for motorists and demanded immediate repairs.
