Ukraine-Russia energy truce tested by new strikes

US President Donald Trump has been touting an agreement between Ukraine and Russia, in which both sides have agreed not to attack each other's energy facilities. However, the strikes have continued.

On Tuesday, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko posted on social media that two gas stations were hit by drone strikes. The Russian side reported damage to an industrial facility in the central region of Samara. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described that attack as a retaliatory measure. He said on social media on Tuesday that Russian forces are continuing strikes on the energy sector and critical infrastructure. He warned that Ukraine's response would be visible. The exchanges came one day after Trump's announcement that both sides had agreed not to target energy facilities.
