More than 125,000 people have been displaced within Yemen amid escalating violence, according to Armen Yedigaryan, representative in Yemen for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Most are women, children and older people who urgently need shelter, food, water, healthcare and protection, Yedigaryan said. Thousands have risked dangerous sea crossings to reach Djibouti and Somalia as humanitarian agencies face a severe funding shortage.
