Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal is scheduled to visit the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

While the visit comes amid a controversy over the proposed screening of a documentary on activist Umar Khalid at the university, neither NLSIU students nor members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) have confirmed whether the Minister’s visit is linked to the controversy.

According to students and ABVP members, an event had already been planned at the university, and an invitation had been extended to Mr. Meghwal before the controversy over the documentary screening emerged.
