UP couple found dead at separate spots, man in wife's salwar adds mystery

A couple was found dead at two separate locations in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor on Tuesday, with the circumstances surrounding their deaths raising several questions. The husband, identified as Chhotu, was found hanging from a tree in a forest, while his wife Sushma's body was found near the Ganga river.

The couple had been reported missing a day earlier and a missing persons report was registered on Monday after Chhotu and Sushma could not be traced. Police launched a search operation with the help of local residents.

The search had to be called off at night due to heavy rain and poor visibility. The operation resumed the following morning, when police received information about a woman's body near the Ganga. Police reached the riverbank and identified the woman as Sushma. During the subsequent search, Chhotu was found hanging from a tree in a nearby forest.

The fact that the couple's bodies were found at different locations has become a key focus of the investigation. Police are trying to establish where the two were last seen and how they reached the forest and the riverbank.

Another unusual detail has emerged from the preliminary information. Chhotu was found wearing his wife's salwar, while both bodies were reportedly found in half-naked state.

Police are examining how the bodies came to be found in these circumstances and what happened before the couple's deaths. Investigators are also looking into whether there was any dispute between the couple or whether another factor was involved.
