US woman charged after admitting to having sex with son 'only about 100 times'

A domestic dispute involving a woman in the US state of Florida and her son took an unexpected turn when the latter told police that he had been having a sexual relationship with his mother since he turned 18, authorities said.

Christina Clemens, 46, and her son, Shane Clemens, 22, both from Lakeland, were subsequently charged with incest, according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

The case came to light after Christina called police during a dispute and accused her son of hitting her.

According to the sheriff, investigators were stunned by the claim and asked Shane to repeat what he had said. He repeated the same allegation.

Detectives then questioned Christina about the allegation and asked whether she had been having sex with her son since he turned 18.

She allegedly acknowledged the relationship and told investigators it had happened “only about 100 times," according to Judd.

Investigators also spoke to Christina's husband, who was not identified. He reportedly told deputies that he and Christina were "happily married" and living together, and said he had not known about the alleged sexual relationship between his wife and son.

However, he told investigators that he had been suspicious about the two spending time together in the master bedroom with the door locked, according to the sheriff.

Judd described the alleged relationship as illegal and said both mother and son were charged with incest.

Christina was also charged with domestic battery and living in open adultery, according to jail records cited by the New York Post. She was released on a total bond of $6,250 on September 4.
