Victoria Bossong bags Asian Games bronze in women's 800m run - GMA Network

Victoria Bossong clocked 2:05.34 to finish third and bag the bronze medal in the women’s 800m run of the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.

She was 0.85 seconds behind China’s Wu Hongjiao who clocked 2:04.49, and 0.18 seconds behind Bahrain’s Nelly Korir who had 2:05.16.

On Monday, Bossong placed first in her heats with a time of 2:02.34.

Back in July, Bossong broke the national record with a time of 2:01.55. The record was previously held by Naomi Cesar at 2:06.24.

This is athletics’ second medal after John Cabang Tolentino’s bronze in men’s 110m hurdles last Sunday.

The Philippines now has 17 medals in total in the Asiad.
