He was a member of the 7th National Assembly and served on several committees, including Defence and Army, Appropriation, Gas, Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, and Privatisation. Ocheja was born on April 3, 1956, according to biographical records. He studied law at Ahmadu Bello University and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1982 He later joined the All Progressives Congress and remained active in Kogi politics.
