Video: Maharashtra woman's hair gets entangled in ferris wheel, scalp ripped off

A 25-year-old woman suffered a severe head injury after her hair got caught in the bearing of a giant wheel at a fair in Maharashtra on Friday afternoon. The moving ride violently pulled her hair, tearing off her scalp along with it.

The incident took place at a fair near the Puneshwar Temple in Phulsavangi, Yavatmal district, during the 'Tanha Pola' celebrations. At around 3 pm, when the ride started, her hair suddenly became caught in its bearing.

As the giant wheel continued moving, her hair was pulled forcefully within moments, resulting in a severe head injury and tearing off her scalp along with her hair.

Assistant Police Inspector Sunil Ambhure and Constable Suhas Kayte, who were present at the spot, immediately intervened after learning about the accident. With the help of local citizens, they stopped the ride and rescued the injured woman.

An ambulance was called promptly, and Talikote was taken to a private hospital in Pusad, where she is undergoing treatment.SAFETY OF AMUSEMENT RIDE UNDER QUESTION

The accident, which occurred amid a large gathering of devotees, has raised concerns over the safety standards of amusement rides at fairs.
