Coach Danny Sprinkle and the Washington Huskies hosted four in-state 2028 targets for an unofficial visit this past weekend.

Justus Holt, Austin Birley, Davion Shareef-Dulaney and Quentin Mosby all made the trip to Seattle on Sunday, along with a handful of other recruits, including four-star guard Jimmie Haywood, who was on campus for an official visit. Although Mosby is now at IMG Academy in Florida and Haywood is at Compass Prep in Arizona, all five have ties to the Emerald City.

Sprinkle has made a concerted effort in the 2028 class to sign multiple high school recruits after only signing one, ex-Mount Si wing Lattimore Ford, in the 2026 cycle. Despite the third-year coach leaning heavily into the transfer portal and international market to build his roster for the 2026-27 season, four of the five Evergreen State visitors this past weekend hold offers from the coaching staff.

Holt, a 6-foot-5 forward for Lincoln High School in Tacoma, is the lone visitor who hasn't publicly announced an offer from UW. Shareef-Dulaney, a 6-foot-2 guard and his Lincoln teammate, secured his scholarship opportunity from Sprinkle and Co. on June 15 before several other schools came calling on the rising junior.

Birley, a 6-foot-5 combo guard who plays for West Valley High School in Yakima, also got his offer from Sprinkle's staff on the same day as Shareef-Dulaney. A second-team WIAA all-state selection after his sophomore year, Birley averaged 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists to lead WVHS to a 20-5 record.

Mosby, a former star at Lakeside High School in the suburbs of Seattle who announced in July that he will play his junior season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, is undoubtedly the biggest target of the Evergreen State foursome on campus past weekend.

The 6-foot-2 four-star prospect is ranked as the No. 77 player in the 2028 class by 247Sports. As a sophomore at Lakeside, Mosby averaged 30.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists over 20 games, proving to be one of the best combo guards in the state.

Given the ample time between now and when the focus for both college coaches and recruits shifts to the 2028 class is still a ways away, getting the next crop of in-state talent around the staff early could prove fruitful down the line.
