Lakambini “Lakam” Chiu, Kim Chiu's sister, was arrested Sunday afternoon in Mandaluyong City on an arrest warrant for 124 counts of Qualified Theft.
In December 2025, the “It’s Showtime” host filed a qualified theft complaint against Lakam after discovering “serious financial discrepancies” in her business. Kim called it one of the "most painful steps" she has taken in her life.
Kim has always been open about her close bond with her sister, whom she described as someone “who can move mountains for me.”
In fact, for Kim's 35th birthday, Kam surprised the celebrity with a photoshoot in Dubai. According to Kim, she only had to show up, with Kim planning everything else.
Born in 1981, Lakam is the eldest of Kim’s four siblings. The other three are Twinkle, William, and John Paul. The five of them reportedly reunited in 2022 for the first time in almost a decade.
According to PEP, Lakam was an entrepreneur who ventured into franchising. In 2012, she acquired a Potato Corner franchise before opening a Julie’s Bakeshop branch the following year.
In 2022, Kim launched her bag brand, House of LittleBunny Philippines, with Lakam reportedly handling its internal operations.
In teasing a new collection for House of LittleBunny earlier this month, Kim took to Instagram and wrote a message that, given the circumstances, has now come to have bittersweet undertones. "Some roads were never meant to lead anywhere. Maybe they were simply meant to remind you how far you’re willing to go," Kim said.
In 2023, Lakam fell into a coma for seven days after suffering from bacterial meningitis. The incident coincided with Kim’s 33rd birthday.
In a YouTube vlog with Dr. Vicki Belo, Kim admitted that her world fell apart when her sister got sick because Lakam had been like a second mother to her.

In 2024, Kim went to get a Feng Shui reading and was immediately warned to be cautious of robbery and betrayal in her life and to be wary of traitors.
